الملخص

This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using computers in teaching Art and
Design at the secondary school level in Gezira State, Sudan. The study examined
effectiveness in relation to achieving art education objectives, instructional methods
employed, teaching aids utilized, and assessment practices. The study population
consisted of art education teachers in secondary schools in Gezira State during the 2021–
2022 academic year. A random sample of 34 teachers was selected, representing 92% of
the total study population. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical research design and
employed a structured questionnaire as the data collection instrument. The questionnaire
was organized into four domains: objectives, instructional methods, teaching aids, and
assessment. The findings revealed a very high overall level of effectiveness in using computers in teaching Art and Design at the secondary level in Gezira State schools, with
a mean score of (4.22). The effectiveness in achieving art education objectives was rated
very high (M = 4.79). The effectiveness of appropriate instructional methods was rated
high (M = 3.97), as was the effectiveness of teaching aids (M = 4.06) and assessment
practices (M = 4.05).The study recommended the provision of adequate computer
facilities in secondary school computer laboratories to keep pace with curriculum
development, emphasizing that curriculum advancement must be accompanied by the
development of educational technologies. It also stressed the importance of
professionally preparing and training secondary school art education teachers to
effectively integrate computers into the teaching and learning process.
