Abstract

This study aimed to investigate about pragmatic dialogue in surat Abqara and the wisdom
behind using it .when there are matters of disagreement—that is its very nature. However,
dialogue can also take place between two parties who do not disagree, but to confirm facts,
clarify points, or seek guidance. The study, therefore, focuses on the pragmatic dialogue in
Surat Al-Baqarah to investigate the conversational style and its objectivity, which ultimately
leads to upholding the truth. It further examines how the subject matter is presented and the
communicative method employed between the interlocutors. The study followed the descriptive,
inductive method, and reached the following findings: Pragmatic dialogue in the holy Quran aims to dispel doubt and convince the other party through tangible evidence and empirical
proofs. The dialogue tools inherent in speech acts, along with literal meanings, implied
meanings and resultant facts, have rendered the conversational style more fluid and objective in
presenting the subject of discussion. Interrogation occurs in all dialogue verses of Surat AlBaqarah, and its connotations vary according to the context and the nature of the interlocutors.
