الملخص
This study aimed at exploring the level of achieving teaching competency for Islamic
Studies lecturers in Somali Universities. The study was conducted on( 2022-2023) academic year
and to achieve the objectives of the study, a descriptive analysisapproach was employed through
the usage of questionnaires and the sample of study consisted of 30 lecturers representing about
30% of the study population that was selected using random sampling method. To analyze the
data statistically, a SPSS program was used. Most Important results: From the lecturer perception,
the ethical and personal competence of lecturers of Islamic Studies at Somali Universities was
greatly achieved with a mean number of 2.38. From the perspective of the lecturers of Islamic
Studies at Somali Universities, the lecturers achieved a moderate level of knowledge competence
and with a mean number of 2.21. from the lectures’ perspective, the lecturers of Islamic Studies at
Somali Universities achieved a moderate level of professionalism and with a mean number of
2.24. The level of competence differences between personal, knowledge and professional are
statistically insignificant in the lecturers of Islamic studies in Somali universities in relation to the
qualification variable. The level of competence differences between personal, knowledge and
professional aspects in the lecturers of Islamic Studies in Somali universities are statistically
significant in relation to the experience variable against the group with a 5 to 10 years of
experience where the median number of this group (2.39%) The most important recommendations
of the study are as follows: The necessity of conducting training sessions, workshops using a
program that is prepared and studied in the faculties. Aiming at strengthening and developing
teaching competencies for the university lecturer. The study also gave some suggestions for future
studies
