الملخص
Plagiarism is one of the biggest cases that confused critics in the first
three centuries of Hijra. While for the fourth century, it witnessed a raid on all
the previous meanings or modern ones. This study aims at knowing the
meaning of plagiarism and what was stated in Al Mutanabbi’s plagiarism. The
study follows the deductive and inductive approach in collecting data, and that
resulted the following: plagiarism in the fourth century Hijri was related to the
rivalry between the ancient and the modernist, this rivalry left the door wide
open for plagiarism to take place; the critics expansion on Al Mutanabbi’s
plagiarism was a pretext to try keep him away from competing them in front
of the kings; Al Mutanabbi took from some poets, added to them and
sometimes equaled them, but for the other poets, they took from him but failed to catch up or cope with his work; most of the critics who wrote on Al
Mutanabbi’s plagiarism were unjust in their judgment, such as Al Hatemi, Al
Sahib ibn Obad and Al Nammy. This study recommends, to look at the books
written on Al Mutanabbi’s plagiarism and to know the intentions of their
authors. And it also recommends, paying more attention to Al Mutanabbi’s
poems for it represents a literary heritage.
