الملخص
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an effective therapeutic approach used
to treat a wide range of psychological disorders. It was used in this study to reduce
psychological stress among AIDS patients at Port Sudan Hospital. The study aimed
to test the effectiveness of a behavioral therapy program to reduce stress among
HIV/AIDS patients in Red Sea State. The program was implemented on (40)
volunteer patients at Port Sudan Teaching Hospital. Thirteen (13) treatment sessions
were conducted on the program sample after obtaining consent and explaining the
program. A pre-test to measure psychological stress, prepared by the researcher and
consisting of initial information and questions, was also administered. The test and
program were presented to a group of judges for their feedback. Implementation of
the program took three months and one week, with one session per week, with the
session duration ranging from 45 to 60 minutes. The study followed an
experimental approach, a research approach that uses experiments, hypothesis
testing, and verification of relationships between variables, as the study aimed to
achieve. The results indicated an increase in the general characteristic of
psychological stress among AIDS patients and a decrease in the degree of
psychological stress among AIDS patients in Port Sudan after the program, and the
presence of statistically significant differences between the scores of the pre- and
post-measurements in the effectiveness of the program in favor of the postmeasurement, and there are no statistically significant differences in the
effectiveness of the program attributable to the variables of gender and age.
