الملخص

This study dealt with the control over the constitutionality of Arab
legislations, and reveals the significance of control over the constitutionality
of laws, as it represents a mechanism of the constitutional system, and that it
is indispensable of. The study aimed at clarifying the concept of control of the
constitutionality of laws and its methods in Sudan and some Arab countries.
The study followed the inductive, analytical and descriptive approach, and the
study came in three enquiries, which dealt with the concept of control, control
of the constitutionality of Arab legislation, and methods of control of the
constitutionality of legislation. The study concluded that control over the
constitutionality of legislation represents a basic guarantee to protect the
principle of the rule of law, and that control methods differ among Arab
countries, which reflect the diversity of legal and political systems. The study
recommended strengthening the independence of the constitutional judiciary
to ensure the integrity of control over legislation, and developing legal and
institutional frameworks in Arab countries to reactivate the role of control
