الملخص

This study aimed to examine the multifaceted impacts of Ethiopian migration to
the Sudan, focusing on the social, economic, and security aspects of this growing
phenomenon. The study highlights that the continuous influx of Ethiopian
migrants into Sudan is driven by multiple factors, including deteriorating economic conditions, armed conflicts, and climate changes in Ethiopia. Sudan
emerges as a primary migration destination due to its geographical proximity and
historical ties with Ethiopia.On the social front, the paper explores the impact of
migration on demographic composition and cultural diversity. While Ethiopian
migrants have enriched Sudan’s social fabric, they also face integration
challenges, such as limited access to healthcare and education services, as well as
occasional tensions with local communities due to increased pressure on scarce
resources. Economically, the study reveals that Ethiopian labor contributes to
various sectors, including agriculture and services. However, the presence of a
large number of unregistered migrants may lead to unfair competition with local
workers and place additional strain on Sudan’s limited infrastructure and
economic resources.From a security perspective, the paper discusses potential
risks such as the rise of illegal migration, the spread of transnational crimes, and
the exploitation of some migrants by human trafficking networks In conclusion,
the study provides recommendations to enhance cooperation between Sudan and
Ethiopia and to manage migration in a way that balances economic benefits with
social and security stability.
