الملخص

The study aimed to measure and analyze the impact of government spending
on the Sudanese general budget deficit through the impact of employe
compensation, the impact of goods and services expenditures, and the impact of
development expenditures o n the budget deficit. The study adopted descriptive
analytical approach, and used a questionnaire as the primary tool for collecting and analyzing data using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The
study concluded the following: Increas ed employee compensation does not
constitute a major cause of the budget deficit, while a strong direct relationship was
found between goods and services expenditures and development expenditures and
the increase in the budget deficit. The results also con firmed that poor financial
management and the lack of transparency negatively affect the country's financial
position. The study recommended rationalizing government spending, especially on
current, non productive items, increasing investment in developmen t projects that
achieve long term returns, and adopting modern financing systems such as the BOT
system to create an effective partnership with the private sector. The study also
emphasized the importance of improving the tax system, increasing public reve nues,
and enhancing transparency and oversight in managing the general budget to
achieve financial sustainability and reduce the deficit .English:Government
